This exhibition is a reflection of the different phases of my life. It was sparked after returning from a visit to my home country, Indonesia—especially my time in Sumbawa, the town where I was born. Surrounded by endless beaches, I stood watching the waves as the water touched my feet. Their steady rhythm reminded me of how far I have traveled, yet also how something within me has always remained—my roots, my sense of identity.

 

What I found there was not only reflected in the natural landscape, but also in the people I returned to. The warmth I received from my relatives stayed with me long after I returned to Sweden. That feeling, along with the memories I carried home, became the foundation for this exhibition.

 

Through these works, I share not only the richness of Indonesian culture, but also a personal narrative—memories of my childhood, a sense of belonging, and a deep pride in where I come from.
